An abstract composition in bright and bold colors. There is a unique textural effect to the painting which adds depth and intrigue. The perfect burst of color in a modern or contemporary space. Johanna Haas studied under the Vienna Secessionist artist Oskar Kokoschka at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria. In the 1970s, she moved to Michigan where she earned a BA and MFA in watercolor and oil painting from Wayne State University. Haas's group and one-woman shows were numerous both in Michigan, Chicago, Toronto and Cologne, Germany. Her work can be found in many public collections including Wayne State University, Detroit Blue Cross and Blue Shield Building, Oskar Kokoschka School of Vision, Salzburg, Austria and dozens more influential buildings and institutions. From a private Detroit estate who acquired the artwork directly from the artist in the 1970s. Dimensions: 30"h x 37.25"w x 1.25"d (framed). In very good vintage condition. See less
