Early 1900s frame Sandys was a close friend of Dante Gabriele Rossetti and for more than a year, until the summer of 1867, Sandys lived with Rossetti at the Tudor House (now Queens House) in Cheyne Walk in Chelsea. Sandys' work was profoundly influenced by that of his friend, focusing more on mythological subjects and portraits. The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood was an influential artistic association for Victorian painting (19th century), born in September 1848 and developed and exhausted in Great Britain. In his ideals he aspires to recreate the anti-academic purity that the exponents of this movement recognized in the works created before Raffaello Sanzio, hence the name of the brotherhood.
