This is a superb, extremely rare pair of Directoire bronze and malachite which has for centuries been a stone that is believed to protect against negative energies from the spiritual realm and has always been highly prized for its dramatic, bright green color. The cost of malachite and the danger of working with it is what adds to the extraordinary rarity and expense. These tables are in very good condition with minimal signs of any wear and were highly prized in the home they came from. They date to the 1950s era.
