Monumental Painting After Roman Vitruvius 1stC BC Writings, Mixed Media
Offered for sale is a mixed-media collage painting on canvas titled "Quien mucho abarca, poco aprieta" by Cuban American artist Freddy Ross. The painting is signed in the lower right and dated 2010. This work is inspired by the works of engineer, architect and and author of the celebrated treatise De architectura (On Architecture), a handbook for Roman architects. Little is known of Vitruvius' life, except what can be gathered from his writings, which are somewhat obscure on the subject.
