Methfessel was born in Staten Island, New York in 1876, and became an accomplished painter and illustrator. His many publications also include the New York Journal 1897, San Francisco Examiner 1898-1911 and The Call 1898-1911, and the Famous Hale magazine San Francisco of one Christmas edition 1899. Exhibited, Jinks Room, San Francisco Press Club Art Exhibit, Feb & May 1900, State Convention of the Republicans, Sacramento 1898. See less
