Offered for your approval is this early 20th century, Circa 1923, USA made Bell & Howell 16mm Motion Picture Camera displayed on vintage wood tripod legs.
This is an outstanding example of a Circa 1923 16mm professional camera with factory original Circa 1923 Cooke lens and the correct factory original early, rare, 'curved' chrome winding key with factory original 1923 keeper' chain, that fits into the correct factory original leather hand carry strap. It is sitting on a very nice OTTO Circa 1930 maple wood vintage tripod with a vintage chrome mini geared head. We have upgraded this camera with a superior period correct OTTO classic wood tripod and vintage mini geared head.
The OTTO tripod has an optional feature of locking the legs at your choice of spread position by using the uppermost quad eared knob to adjust and lock the leg spread. This eliminates the need for a tripod spreader or triangle. For display purposes these legs will lock at any spread position and not slip on a smooth floor.
The buyer has their choice of the shown factory original 25mm Cooke lens or the Bell & Howell 100mm chrome lens.
The tripod legs compact to a minimum height of 35"
And the tripod legs extend to a maximum height of 56"
The tripod legs fully extended with head and camera mounted has a height of 69"
Please contact us for additional exact measurements you may require.
This is the most original example of this early camera that we have seen and it has the original paint finish and correct color from the factory. The patina from Circa 1923 does show some minor paint defects (chips) from normal usage, but the overall look of this Circa 1923 'ancient' artifact is excellent and remarkable.
A photocopy of an original owners manual will be included at no extra charge with your purchase.
This camera and tripod combination offers a gorgeous impressive sculpture look for any home, office or collection. This camera set shows an excellent cosmetic condition with an unmolested original paint color and factory 'wrinkle paint' finish. The camera winds and runs (a noisy c.1923 motor is observed) and if it needs to shoot correct production film, an overhaul and full lubrication is required. It is sold and is perfect as a historical display.
Please inquire for more information on this impressive Bell & Howell early century example. This is a totally authentic camera display from the early Golden Age Of Hollywood.
