Item description:
Jug or large ceramic pitcher with spout, handmade on a potter's wheel, glazed and vitrified. Entirely hand-decorated with a medieval coat of arms in the center on a white background. In neo-Renaissance style, made and signed under the base by one of the Blue Delft manufacturers, catalog number and the inscription "Delft SCR." The vase can be dated to the late 19th century. Decorations entirely done by hand. Hand-modeled handle consisting of a double twisted ceramic cord. The shape of the jug echoes the style of jugs from the 1600s, which explains the decoration with a coat of arms and Latin inscription reading "Petala Rose," meaning that the jug was intended to hold rose petal water.
