This set of three (3) authentic antique copperplate engravings by the Renaissance master Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino. Italy 1483-1520) depict images he created for the Vatican. The engravings were printed in Rome, Italy c.1780 on handmade "laid" paper. Printed on one side only. One of the prints depicts the Greek philosopher Diogenes. The other images may depict some of Christ's apostles. Each image is apprx. 17" x 123"., elephant folio size. Great for a wall treatment or two smaller groupings.
Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, known as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance. His work is admired for its clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual achievement of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur.
