An early 20th-century pen and ink portrait of an old woman wearing a head scarf features an abundance of texture, shadow, and pattern done in fine parallel cross-hatching. This piece is professionally framed in a walnut frame with a wide linen mat and a gold band, protected under museum-quality anti-glare glass, and it is signed 'Amerine' in the lower right corner.
This artwork was purchased from the daughter of a close friend of the artist, Weldon Amerine, of Beaumont, Texas. She met him as a young girl and later inherited three illustrations from her parents, including this one.
Please scroll through the photos to view the other two portraits. They are priced and sold individually, but a bundled discount can be negotiated for the set.
