Here we have an antique rustic pine tilt top dining table, circa 1800s. Sometimes this style is referred to as a tavern table. So much wonderful old authentic patina with tons of character. The table is extremely versatile and fully functional. The top can flip up in either direction revealing a bench with storage beneath. It would make a fabulous kitchen island work table and a great space saver for smaller homes. The top looks very shiny in my pics because I had just wiped it down prior to pictures, it's not that shiny in person.
Constructed of solid mostly clear pine with very few knots. The wood is nearly a full inch thick. Plenty of surface wear, stains, scratches, dents, dings and age cracks. One corner of the work surface is dished out from many many decades of use/wear. There's a row of indentations along the underside, probably from clamping some sort of kitchen tool. Two pegs match and appear to be original while the other two pegs seem to be replacements.
The interior width of the seat is 33.875 inches wide and 17.5 inches deep. The seat height is 17 inches. This table is structurally sound, stable and ready for many more decades of service. Please examine photos and feel free to ask questions... thanks for looking!!!
