Here is a stunning set - mirror and console table - in the French, Louis XV style with carved wood, gilt wood and scagliola. The mirror is a large, focal feature with its gilt gold finish and carved shell details on the top and bottom. I adore the shape as it is has obvious decadence, but it still has a modern sensibility with the angular bottom corners. The console is also made from ornately carved wood with detailing in gold. The top of the piece is scagliola, ie it is painted to look like veined marble. There are a few patched/touched up areas but I love that it looks aged and antique. The legs have beautiful scrolled and acanthus leaf details.
