Jones in the Louis XVI style. A heavy wrought iron, nicely Vintaged gold leaf gilded base supporting a slightly raised 3/4" beveled glass top. The table features classic Mid-Century French details: gracefully angular top and square tapering legs connected to a stunningly-designed, X-shaped stretcher with and open center motif.

The table's strong and rectilinear design is a masterful expression of the neoclassical movement that emerged in the 1750s, as the Age of Enlightenment flowered in Europe. Its tapered lines and clean aesthetics are typical of a timeless, refined look--symmetrical, ordered and dignified--that gracefully compliments traditional and moderns spaces alike.

The table is in very good vintage condition with minor gilt loss consistent with age and use. Paul Jones was a masterful creator, innovator and designer of American furniture, servicing some of the most exacting and enviable clients of his time. The Paul M. Jones Collection now resides with his protégé, John Boone. The current list price is $10,500.
