The Shanghai Togo Sofa from 2012 is a rare, Limited Edition sofa from Ligne Roset. Especially the Togo sofa with armrests, hardly to find. The cover is designed by the Artist Cristian Zuzunga. He collaborated in 2008 with Ligne Roset Ligne Roset and designed this exclusive print “pixel” to upholster key furniture pieces to mark the 150 anniversary of Ligne Roset.
Born in 1978 to a Catalan mother and Peruvian father, Cristian was brought up in a multicultural household that instilled in him a strong sense of curiosity and a desire to explore the world around him. Cristian’s work is broad in scope and includes print, letterpress, photography, sculpture, textile and furniture design. He founded Zuzunaga in 2009 as a vessel through which to explore his many creative interests. His designs are informed by the psychology of colour, architecture and the urban environment, nature, Eastern and Western philosophy, alchemy, anthropology, sociology and the psychology of Carl Gustav Jung. While his work initially explored the idea of duality, his practice has since evolved to embody the synergy of opposing forces.
Michel Ducaroy designed the Togo in 1973 for Ligne Roset. This design is over 40 years old but still is until today very popular. The Togo is also the first piece of furniture that's made totally of foam. A Ligne Roset classic, Michel Ducaroy's Togo has been the ultimate in comfort and style. The timeless collection features an ergo-friendly design with polyether foam in 5 different density's.
A piece of iconic furniture to relax in the greatest of comfort in your siesta or lazy evenings.
French seating designer Michel Ducaroy (1925-2009) is best known for his iconic, Pop Art-inspired Togo Sofa produced by high-end design brand Ligne Roset.
Ducaroy grew up surrounded by industrial design; his family owned a furniture factory that fitted the interiors of both private clients and ocean liners built at ports in Normandy. He studied sculpture at the École Supérieure Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Lyon—a specialization that can be seen in the distinctive silhouettes of Ducaroy’s later design work.
