We can now offer this 17th/18th century landscape view of an Italian grotto with well articulated figures in the foreground and a distant city and further buildings done with atmospheric effect. Please enjoy the capability of the artist in developing motion and movement of the figures, even in small detail.
Previously attributed to the school of Jan Frans van Bloman, called Orizzonte.

Relined, minor chips to paint, overall craquelure, scattered touch-ins. Later fine frame. These have distinct wear and patina from being around for a hundred or hundreds of years. You can see the details in the photographs included in the listing. Most collectors would love these as-is, so I wanted to point out the flaws ahead of purchase. less
