Dimensions: 32” H x 53 ⅞” W x 16 ½” D
A handsome pair of Louis XVI console tables, from 1800s France, crafted from solid walnut. The planks of the top are arranged with breadboard sides and routed by a low groove along the top edge for a decorative and pleasing touch. Both consoles offer a small drawer in the apron, however differ in their hardware. Within the scrolling escutcheon plate of one console is the key to open and lock the drawer. On the other table, a drop ring handle hangs from a lock that is nonoperational. Ornately carved front legs descend from the corner medallions of the apron and expand out into lantern-like carvings before tapering back down to the floor. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, enhancing their antique charm and unique attributes. Please view the detailed images. Sold as a pair
