Bernyce Alpert Winick (1922-2022) was known to many as “the lady in white” wore only white-colored clothes, was an artist, author, fashion designer, pianist, and photographer. In 1966, Bernyce Winick turned her attention to her "aqua media" painting after briefly experimenting in oils. Her first solo show was held in 1969 at the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library. She has receive numerous awards including first prize at the Salmagundi Club and the National Arts Club. Her paintings were exhibited extensively in New York City and Long Island, including solo shows at the Galleria Internationale (Madison Avenue, NY) and the Salmagundi Club (5th Avenue, NY) as well as juried competitions of the American Watercolor Society, the National Association of Women Artist, the Fine Arts Museum of Long Island, the Nassau County Museum of Fina Arts, the Chen Chung Gallery of ST. John's University, the Long Beach Museum and the C.W. Post Gallery. See less
