A Very Fine Antique King's Rose Decorated Pearlware Teapot, Circa 1800
Made in the Staffordshire area of England.
Pearlware clay, with hand painted decoration. Orange rose decorations. The orange rose is often referred to as King's Rose whilst the pink flower in the same or similar pattern is Queen's Rose. This particular pattern was made for the Pennsylvania Dutch market in the early 19th century.
Size: 8 3/4" wide spout to handle, 5" deep, and 5 1/4" tall.
Condition: old repair to the bottom, it appears an old crack was painted over. slight hairline on the top rim. See pictures.
