Appearing in the middle of the 18th century, at the end of the reign of Louis XV, the Pompadour armchair takes its name from the Marquise de Pompadour, famous favorite of King Louis XV and a great lover of art and refined furniture.
This armchair is characterized by a low rounded back, enveloping armrests, a wide and padded seat as well as curved legs
History : This model of armchair was specially designed for the french king's favorite Madame de Pompadour for its comfort when she was pregnant and with her young children.
