In the wind of modernity that drives the 50s and 60s, potters and ceramists are not left out! They invent and reinvent the shapes of terracotta objects, playing with the composition of the enamels to obtain new colors or textures. The Lorraine earthenware of Saint Clément is linked to that of Lunéville. In Lunéville, fine earthenware is produced, often common and classic, services and patterned plates. Meanwhile, Saint Clément invents shapes and colors. In the second half of the 20th century, Jacques Roux and Blanche Lettale explored the stylistic possibilities of earthenware. In a spare and innovative style, the latter will offer vases with organic shapes, often with monochrome or two-tone enamels. This large pitcher draws its inspiration from nature. In a bright green tone, it is ribbed with black elements in relief. Impressive and brilliant, it is an interesting decorative and everyday piece.
The water jug is in good condition. Small frictions on the enamel should be noted. It is stamped Blanche Letalle and Saint Clément in relief under its base.
