Built in the mid-19th century, this elmwood table was likely commissioned by a wealthy homeowner in China's Shanxi province. The table's simple form is balanced by humpback stretchers and charismatic spandrels, hand-carved to resemble billowing clouds. The original top was replaced by one of crushed bamboo, providing a firm, subtly textured surface, making it ideal as a coffee table or low console. See less
