This Semi Antique Persian Melayer Rug was hand woven in Iran's Hamadan region and subsequently distressed and refinished in the United States. Originally used as a form of art and cultural expression, Persian rug-weaving can be traced back to the Bronze Age and is rooted in Persia's history. The earliest surviving Persian rugs originated from the Safavid dynasty during the 16th century.
