This is rare and stunning Majolica Hand Painted Rooster. Such a fine majolica art ceramic rooster is rare and almost impossible to find! A fine large ceramic statue. Very artisticly made and painted. This is one of a kind and has no known defects. Appears to be in perfect condition with no defects or damage. Very probably made in the 1970s in Italy. A flawless rooster for a flawless country French or old world statement piece.
Layers of many colors were painted by an artist in a very realistic manner. Hand applied leaves and many accents on the bottom of this large statement rooster. Would look beautiful in the best of chateau or French Provençal, or any old world kitchen. No French country or provincial kitchen is complete without a beautiful rooster, the Gallic Rooster is France’s national bird.
Rooster stands 12” tall and is 10” wide. Mark is engraved as b+B on the bottom.
