This 19th-century French Neoclassical commode features a striking black and white marble top with dramatic veining, beautifully contrasted against its warm French-polished fruitwood base. The honey-colored wood highlights the natural grain and character of the piece, giving it depth and elegance.
Designed with a total of five drawers—three smaller drawers over two full-width drawers—the commode offers ample storage while maintaining a clean, symmetrical profile. It comes with keys that operate the drawers. Overall, the structure is sturdy and intact, with drawers that slide smoothly. The marble top shows a little surface wear and typical tiny chips along the rough back edge, but overall it's in wonderful condition. The wooden case exhibits tonal variation, natural imperfections, and light wear, all commensurate with its age and use. There is a split on one side that is characteristic of commodes this age. Missing one cap foot- can be replaced- they just slip on. The commode has been cleaned and touched up, where necessary. The inside of drawers have been cleaned and oiled and are ready to be filled. The piece is ready for white glove delivery, allowing it to be placed directly in its intended location for you or your client and ready for use. less
