The piece was produced by Hickory Furniture for J.B. Sciver in the United States in the 1960s.

The chest is made of hardwood that has been enameled in a deep orange, and it has an ebonized rectangular black base with brass fittings. Very Parzinger.

It offers three drawers and one door, both sport thick brass Campaign-style hardware.
