Although not part of the original furnishing scheme at the Paimio Sanatorium, this revolutionary chair is often associated with the project.
One of Aalto's masterpieces.
This particular chair is acquired from a collector in Munich. Most likely it is from the 1960s/70s, as it still has the old screws.
It has a natural birch plywood frame with a solid birch cross rail and a black lacquered bent plywood seat with venting slots.
What a beauty!
The chair is in very good condition. Some normal traces of wear. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
