This marvelous antique hand-colored aquatint etching is of the Board Meeting of the College of Physicians published 1 May 1808, … Read more This marvelous antique hand-colored aquatint etching is of the Board Meeting of the College of Physicians published 1 May 1808, at R. Ackerman's Repository of the Arts, 101 Strand. This fascinating work was designed and etched by Thomas Rowlandson and Auguste Charles Pugin. The aquatint was created by J.C. Stadler. This work is from a series/portfolio entitled the Microcosm of London. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Mat Height=13 inches, Width side to side=16 inches, Print height=11-3/4 inches, Print width=.9 inches This historic print comes in its original matting and cellophane envelope. This marvelous aquatint etching has been well cared for and gently displayed. The coloration is excellent and there is no apparent damage such as foxing, discoloration or stains. The mat appears wore with a bent corner, a couple of ceases and slight overall discoloration. The cellophane wrapper is intact, but very fragile with discoloration and tears. The mat could be replaced for a better display. It is the perfect addition to your print collection, particularly if you admire the historic London reference. See less
