Alvin Corporation was a company that produced sterling silver and silver-plated flatware, holloware, and dresserware. The company was originally called Alvin Mfg Co. when it was founded in Irvington, New Jersey in 1886. The company moved to Sag Harbor, Long Island in 1895 and changed its name to Alvin Silver Co. in 1919. In 1928, the Gorham Company purchased the company's assets and changed the name to Alvin Corporation
