Color lithograph, on Magnani-Pescia paper. Paper size 22.5cmx33cm, work size 22.5cmx33cm. Excellent condition, no defects. Pedro Cano (Blanca, 1944), one of the greatest contemporary Spanish painters, master of the watercolor technique; he began painting at a very young age and in 1964 he moved to Madrid where he attended the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando. In 1969 he won the Prix de Rome at the Spanish Academy in Rome, where he lived for three years. In the 80s he moved to New York where he lived for more than 5 years, exhibiting in Dallas, New York, Toronto and Los Angeles. In 2000 he exhibited a series of large canvases at the Palazzo dei Normanni in Palermo; it was there that he returned to exhibit in 2005 with the cycle of watercolors that illustrate the novel “Invisible Cities” by Italo Calvino, after the stages in Murcia and Rome. Equally important is his graphic production which is expressed in lithographic works and engravings. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
