The technique is called Piera, one of the most difficult Murano glass way of creating a pattern of colors, where a mosaic of Murano rods is transformed into a three-dimensional creation. This workmanship was made famous by Giò Ponti in the Morandiane series and Dino Martens in his mezza filigrana creations. The particularity of this set lies in the subsequent transformation called “a ritorto” with the glass still warm. I thus obtained a beautiful optical play of superimposition that creates a net in transparency reminiscent of the Scottish Tartan. Height 11.8 cm ca. Diameter 8.5 cm ca.
