Beautiful handmade table lamp made in denmark between 1910-1920 at "møller & bøgely" workshop. The lamp base is made from earthenware and decorated using hand glazing and sgrafitto technique. The style is the danish equivalent to art nouveau called "skønvirke" recognized by a simplified ornamentation and use of plant and animal motifs. The inspiration from japaneste traditional art is obvious and typical for this period. Signed "mb" and artist initials "spi" underneath. In the style of thorvald bindesbøll.
