A sought-after collector's item of very high artistic value. Extremely impressive cobalt flacon made in the sommerso technique on the island of Murano, known for centuries for producing the highest quality glassware. Simple, geometric form based on sharply beveled, handmade facets. The widest at mid-height, from which it tapers again to reach a width equal to the base at the outlet. The glass on display is distinguished by its deep cobalt color of strongly varying hue, surrounded by a yellow glow. It can serve decorative purposes or be used as a vase. The object is also distinguished by the use of the sommerso technique. Sommerso in Italian means immersion. This difficult, complex technique makes it possible to achieve a spectacular three-dimensional effect and illuminate the interior of the glass mass. This creates the illusion of depth and an additional glow between the layers of glass. Flacons made using the sommerso technique can be juxtaposed to achieve a particularly attractive visual effect. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
