Chinese framed porcelain Buddhist temple plaque Saptalochana Tara, a finely drawn depiction of Seven-eyed Tara in black and gold, attended by Buddhas at each corner of the image and by Mahakala directly above her. White Tara is seated in a full lotus pose on a lotus throne, with an ornate mandorla and halo, her right hand in abhaya mudra and her left hand holding the Buddhist Canopy, her hands, feet and brow having the eyes that see all suffering, amid stylized clouds and Buddhist offerings on a lotus leaf below, all done in fine gilt line drawing throughout. The signature, "Minister Ding Guanpeng, respectfully, painting", with two small seal marks, is carved to the lower right. The plaque is in its original, Chinese, hongmu frame, made with fine Chinese joinery, with original bronze hanger. The back is intact and removable. Circa Republic of China era or earlier.
