(Oklahoma, estimated early 20th Century) The subject is of an older gentleman with a gray head of hair and beard. He seems to wear a dark jacket and is painted on a dark ominous background. Oil on canvas and signed at lower right by Oklahoma painter Genie Brock. Housed in the original frame. Frame originates from Mexico and the exterior is hand-carved in scalloped design edges. (Almost pie crust inspired) The center of the frame is gold craquelure on a black background. The interior of the frame is of the same wood as the exterior in a simple linear design. A fantastic example of American Realism.
