The top has a natural slope which is why they currently make them with glass instead of woven rattan. It doesn't not affect the ability to hold glasses or a tray in a sturdy fashion and the stock photo pictured shows the same natural unevenness.

"The Carlo Bar Cart by Sika Design brings back the glamour of the 1950s and 60s when martinis and merry mixers were all the rage. A classic midcentury design, it features two woven shelves for mixing drinks and serving hors d’oeuvres, with a pair of cane bottle racks for storing up to eight bottles. Handmade from the finest natural rattan, the two-tiered cart has elegantly curved trolley handles on each end and durable caster wheels to roll to wherever guests are gathered."
