A Very Fine Antique French Majolica Asparagus Shaped Platter, Circa 1880's
Most likely made in France, possibly by the Salins Fabrique.
White earthenware with a multi coloured glaze,
Asparagus cradle, perfect for grilled Asparagus!!
Size: 16 3/4" wide, 9 1/2" deep, 2 1/2" tall
Condition: very tight hairline/crazing line, some light glaze loss at the end of one of the asparagus(root end), use and wear marks are consistent with age. use and wear associated with glaze loss, and crazing are consistent with age and use.
