These upright display shelves are constructed with solid wood that is dovetailed in the drawers. There are open sides and low slatted railings enclosing each shelf. There are 2 drawers and cabinet space at the bottom. The legs have an Asian configuration. They can be used together or separated. The pair's clean lines are accentuated by a dark brown-black finish. The original hardware is present. The small brass pieces that go through the doors are not present. This is often the case.

These type of shelves were the centerpiece of a Qing-dynasty scholar’s studio. The open shelves were ideal for displaying stacks of books, rocks, antiques, and other scholarly implements. They have a streamlined and sophisticated look perfect for any room.

Condition: Finish is mostly intact with a small amount of finish loss. Small rods that go through the cabinet hardware is missing. These can be purchased online. They are often missing off of Asian pieces. It does not affect the integrity.
