This is a rare original from … Read more Fantastic modernist lounge chair designed by Paul Schuitema around 1932 and produced by D3. This is a rare original from before the war. Not a reissue. Highly collectable. It features a chrome plated tubular frame, black lacquered armrests. The seat still has the traditional vegetable fillings (crin). Model 55 is part of the collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and and the Boijmans and Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. 

It has been reupholstered with a high quality fine Boucle fabric in pure wool, burnt sienna brown. The armrests have at some point been repainted and one screw on the backrest has been replaced by a kind of hook. The chrome has some damage on the bottom.
