Elegant and iconic French Art Deco group featuring a reclining lady in a flapper dress with two sleek greyhounds, modeled by Menneville (female figure) and Irenée Rochard (greyhounds).
The work is executed in patinated bronze and silvered pewter with hand-carved ivorine (ivorene) face and hands, mounted on a striking onyx and marble plinth in celadon green with variegated tawny veining.
This classic chryselephantine Art Deco sculpture embodies the glamour of the 1930s, combining modernist lines, elegant fashion, and animal grace.
Comparable in style and spirit to the celebrated works of Demétre Chiparus, yet firmly attributed to Menneville and Rochard, it represents the refined artistry of Paris ateliers during the Art Deco era.
