It is much larger and louder than a Cow Bell - that way the farmer could distinguish the Bull from the rest of the herd. It is Completely Hand Made - Hand Wrought out of heavy gauge steel. It has a very loud ring and sounds exactly how you would expect a Cowbell to sound. It has been worn - used much over the years as the heavily weathered condition would indicate. I purchased this piece on one of my recent picking trips in the Northern New Mexico Region. Circa Early 1900s. It measures 8 inches Tall x 6 1/2 inches Long x 3 3/4 inches Wide.
