A newly woven Oushak-region flat weave kilim, handmade in West Anatolia in 2023 using silk warp and viscose weft dyed with natural dyes. This one-of-a-kind piece draws on the ancient chintamani motif — a tri-sphere composition of Timurid and Ottoman imperial origin — reinterpreted here with bold, graphic clarity. Each piece is produced individually, requiring approximately twenty days of weaving to complete.
At 4'3" x 6'4", this handmade kilim functions as a strong compositional anchor in mid-sized rooms. Its ivory ground and high-contrast coral-and-cobalt palette integrate naturally into Organic Modern, Art Deco, and Mid-Century Modern interiors. The flat weave construction reads as both floor art and wall hanging, offering versatile placement for design-forward residential and commercial projects.

◆ Color Palette & Design Insight:
An ivory-ground Oushak kilim of striking chromatic contrast, the coral red and cobalt blue chintamani medallions create a bold, graphic tension against the luminous cream field.
(Primary colors: ivory white, coral red, cobalt blue, pale celadon)
◆ Motifs & Symbolism:
The chintamani is a tri-sphere motif of Buddhist and Timurid origin, adopted by the Ottoman court as an emblem of imperial power and divine blessing. Here, four corner medallions and a central tri-cluster composition restate this ancient symbol in a flat weave format of graphic, contemporary directness.

◆ Heritage & Investment Value:
Each Turkish kilim or rug represents a convergence of nomadic craft tradition, natural material mastery, and singular artistic expression. Hand-woven using techniques refined over centuries in Anatolian villages, these works are produced with organic wool and natural dyes — materials that ensure structural integrity and chromatic depth well beyond the lifespan of any machine-made alternative. A vintage Turkish rug is both a curatorial acquisition and a sound design investment: one-of-a-kind, sustainable, and only more valuable with age.
