This chandelier features a classical form with understated elements, all of which feature remarkable detailing and precise execution of materials. With six curvilinear glass arms expanding from a central oil rubbed bronze housing, each of the six arms curve upwards featuring rounded shades with filigree detailing, a timeless technique in Murano glass art which in this instance creates a precise geometric weave of white glass within transparent glass. From the central housing which holds the arms of the chandelier, a rod of glass rises with a fluted detail and a canopy rendered in glass with matching filigree detailing. A bold and materially exquisite fixture, this piece serves as an incredible example of the quality of Barovier & Toso, and the materials and design motifs of Mid-Century Modernism.
