Schiaparelli, one of the most famous fashion designers, along with Coco Chanel, was prominent between the two World Wars. She teamed with Marcel Vertes who created the whimsical, modern illustrated ads complementing Schiaparelli’s avant-garde style and irreverent attitude. Vertes collaborated with Schiaparelli and illustrated publicity ads for her perfume capturing her spirit and style. This print is signed by Vertes. It is a prime example of French style, flair, and pizzazz in advertising art. Done in powder blue with white puffs of dreamlike motifs of sleeping images swirling around a candle. Wonderful imagery. Originally published in a French periodical dating to the 1940s. It is NOT a recent reproduction print. This is a RARE print as it was published in limited editions of magazines at the time. 9.25 by 11.5 inches in size. A+ condition; comes with acid free backing. (See companion print; ask about other Schiaparelli prints.) See less
