Beautiful warm color, top quality and cast iron base. It was made by the well-known 19th century English furniture manufacturer Maple & Co.

The maker Maple & Co was the most important manufacturer of quality furniture in the world towards the end of the Victorian period (ca. 1880). The company furnished the winter palace of Tsar Nicholas, the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, all the major English embassies around the world, countless country houses and large hotels. Everyone who was important towards the end of the 19th century had their furniture made by Maple & Co. The quality and craftsmanship was unprecedented and that is still very clearly visible today.
