No harp is needed as the spider-like frame supports the cone shade. Was used in the production of a movie, and as a result the lamps were re-wired for specifically for the production of the series. I had them returned them to a standard wire with dimmer configuration by a professional lamp repair shop. The lamp sells for $2450 each. Great opportunity to own this set for a fraction of the value.
