Rare goldscheider art déco figurine of around 1930: dancer with brown hair pinned up at the nape of her neck … Read more Rare goldscheider art déco figurine of around 1930: dancer with brown hair pinned up at the nape of her neck in a dress flared like a fan with flounces and floral decoration, leaning against a pedestal completely covered by her large shawl and looking down sensually while playing the guitar. On a large, black, stepped, round base, artist's signature 'lorenzl' on the reverse at the hem of the cloth. Designed by josef lorenzl (1892 - 1950), who was an austrian sculptor and ceramic modeler. His bronze statuettes often show graceful dancers with long legs and closed eyes. Lorenzl designed numerous ceramics for friedrich goldscheider and keramos and was one of the most popular artists of art deco. Model 5912 was created circa 1929. Made circa 1930 marks: model number 5912 / 47 / 4 goldscheider wien (vienna) manufactory stamp vienne / hand-decorated painter's and former's signs existing artist's signature 'lorenzl' on the reverse on the hem of the cloth size: height: 37,5 cm / 14.76 in width: 27,0 cm / 10.62 in depth: 18,5 cm / 7.28 in bibliography: dechant / goldscheider, goldscheider: firmengeschichte und werkverzeichnis / history of the company and catalogue of works, stuttgart (germany), 2007, page 419, number 5912 condition: very good - usual signs of age this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
