designer tobia scarpa renowned italian architect and designer, born on 1 january 1935 in venice. Son of the famous architect carlo scarpa, he inherited a strong passion for design and architecture. He graduated in architecture from the iuav university of venice in 1969. His career has been characterized by versatility and innovation, ranging from furniture design to industrial architecture. He has collaborated with several prestigious companies, including cassina, gavina, and b&b italia. One of his most famous works is the soriana chair, created for cassina, which earned him the prestigious compasso d'oro in 1970.
