An oversized early antique hooked rug of a large lion with palms and floral decor. This shirred wool hooked rug depicting a lion in a landscape was made around 1880’s and the design reflects elements of the ES Frost Pattern Lions with Palms.
The rug still maintains good coloring and has been stitched to a fabric and applied or a foam board panels and is light enough to hang.

The edges have been stitched where it was fraying (see photos), some stitching missing to expose bits of canvas, This is a wonderful piece of Folk Art and makes for a fantastic statement in a room.
