Absolutely delicious Satsuma porcelain vase, made at the end of the 19th century, around 1880. It rests on a base of ormolu, and is also crowned by a rim of the same material.
It features plant decorations of chrysanthemum flowers, and a procession of noble men dressed in richly printed suits. These characters are in an open room with large windows overlooking a typical Japanese landscape towards the mountains. Both in the mouth and at the base of the piece we find decorative friezes in brilliant hues thanks to the golden enamel.
