The simple blue floral design around the rim is characteristic of this area. The shape is nice too. It is a bowl, but a very shallow one. This bowl shows wear around the rim which adds to its authentic rustic character. The backside is flat so it would look nice on a counter or hung on a wall. The old pottery from Puglia, like this bowl, is thick and has a rustic feel. The hand painted designs are typically very simple.
