Mid Century Nude Study, Reclining Figure on Blue in Oil on Board
Mid Century nude study of a female figure in a reclining pose with a rich blue background by listed artist Jon Blanchette (American, 1908-1987). Signed "Blanchette" lower right. Unframed. Image, 18"H x 24"W.
Blanchette was born in Somerset, England and moved to Battle Creek, Michigan in 1918. Blanchette later studied at the Pittsburgh Art Institute. In 1932 Blanchette and his wife moved to Los Angeles where he painted, did architectural design, and stage sets for Fox Studios. In 1948 he settled in Aptos, California where he painted fine art and taught privately.
